Aagaard Simul Report

Congrats to organisers John Dempsey and Trevor Davies as well as all who participated in today’s Jacob Aagaard Simultaneous in the Kelvingrove Museum and Art Gallery.  Jacob played 101 players non-stop over a period of 6 hours, scoring 82 wins, 12 draws and 7 losses, raising a total of £600 for charity.  More details here.

A strong contingent of GMCC players were of course present, including Yours Truly, Chris Perkin, Evis Perdikou, Jack Collins, Brian Collins, Norman Lynsey, Paul Macdonald and Roy Smeeton.

As announced on Saturday, a meet-up was held in the bar of the Novotel yesterday evening. Last Night of the 2007/8 Season in Photos

Some photos of Glasgow Montrose Chess Club’s final night of the 2007/8 season can be found here (

GMCC was displaced from it’s (former) premises by some bagpipe playing types, so we repaired to the nearby Hogshead on Woodlands Road.  This proved a blessing in disguise, as a very enjoyable evening of al fresco chess & beer ensued…
