Club Re-opens 17th September 2026
Glasgow Montrose Chess Club is closed for the summer apart from the weekly online rapid tournaments on chess.com (and occasional IRL meet-ups). We will be re-opening on Thursday 17th September – look forward to seeing you then!

Hillhead Chess Library Group
Exciting news! A new chess group/venue is starting in the West End of Glasgow next Wednesday (6th April).
Old Montrosian Evis Perdikou has been busily starting up the Hillhead Library Chess Group, and has sent us the following update:
It’s official! Next week on Wednesday will be the first meeting of the Hillhead library group! This will be from 5.30-7.30 pm. Sets and clocks will be provided. Hopefully get 5 tables and this would mean an availability of 20 people max. If more people come then it will be drop in. Will get a table for newcomers/children. The toilet facilities are only available upstairs.
