Hillhead Chess Library Group
Exciting news! A new chess group/venue is starting in the West End of Glasgow next Wednesday (6th April).
Old Montrosian Evis Perdikou has been busily starting up the Hillhead Library Chess Group, and has sent us the following update:
It’s official! Next week on Wednesday will be the first meeting of the Hillhead library group! This will be from 5.30-7.30 pm. Sets and clocks will be provided. Hopefully get 5 tables and this would mean an availability of 20 people max. If more people come then it will be drop in. Will get a table for newcomers/children. The toilet facilities are only available upstairs.

Online Rapid Tournament: 30th April 2026

The next club event will be an online rapid tournament on chess.com. Kick-off will be at 7:45pm on Thursday 16th April. As always registration will be one hour before the tournament starts, and time control will be 10 minutes + 5 second increment.

The next IRL meeting will be at the Minerva Club next Thursday (29th Jan.) at 19:30 GMT. – the ‘B’ team will be playing a Dumbarton League fixture vs. Hamilton ‘B’.
